Caring for your jewellery purchase from Stones With Style
Freshwater pearls and semi precious stones need to be handled carefully to keep them in the best condition. Day to day wear may cause them to become discoloured but by following the advice below your Stones With Style jewellery should remain in perfect condition.
- Your jewellery pieces will stay cleaner if you put them on after you have applied your makeup and perfume.
- Be sure to take off your jewellery before you apply hand and body creams.
- Wipe your pearls and stones with a soft, lint-free cloth when you take them off.
- The cloth can be dampened with water or it can be dry. If damp, allow the jewellery to air dry before putting away.
- Discoloured pearls or stones can be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution.
- Never clean your pearls or stones with solutions that contain ammonia or harsh detergents.
- Don't use abrasive cleaners or rub the jewellery with an abrasive cloth.
Many of our jewellery pieces contain charms, chains or fastenings that are made of silver. It is a normal process for silver to tarnish and you should not worry if your silver jewellery appears to discolour. If this happens you should never use anything but a clean 100% cotton cloth or a special sterling silver cleaning cloth. Rub the silver gently and this should bring a shine back to your jewellery .
